What Adaawewigamig is known for
Adaawewigamig, meaning "place of trade" in Anishinaabemowin, opened at 55 Byward Market Square in Ottawa on June 19, 2022 as an Indigenous-owned social enterprise supporting Assembly of Seven Generations. It carries products including Kokum Scrunchies, Mitsoh, Moccasin Joe, Cedar Canoe Candles, Uasau Soaps and Awazibi Maple Syrup, and hosts workshops for Indigenous youth.
