ATTA Gallery

ATTA Gallery was founded in 2010 by Atinuj (Atty) Tantivit, becoming Thailand's first gallery dedicated specifically to contemporary art jewelry. Tantivit's path to the gallery was unconventional: her first career was in marine resource management, and only after pursuing a graduate gemologist certificate -- and years spent collecting Native American jewelry while living in the United States -- did she pivot toward representing studio jewelers working outside conventional fine-jewelry norms. The gallery's name, ATTA, comes from Pali, the ancient Indian liturgical language also used in Thai, and means "self," a deliberate nod to its founding emphasis on the individual expression of both makers and collectors. ATTA opened its doors at the end of August 2010 in a 50-square-metre space at O.P. Garden, with an official opening that November. Marking its 2020 anniversary, the gallery relocated to a considerably larger space at Warehouse 30, in the Charoenkrung district that anchors Bangkok's Creative District. In 2022 ATTA broadened its remit beyond jewelry to represent a wider range of contemporary visual art, with a continued emphasis on materiality, while retaining its founding identity as a hub for Thai and international studio jewelers.
