Betty Barclay is a German women's fashion label whose corporate history traces to Max Berk, who began as a textile manufacturer in Mannheim in 1938. In 1955 the business acquired the German license for the Betty Barclay name from the US-based Jonathan Logan Group. In 1968 the company built a new headquarters on a 15,000-square-meter site in Nussloch, near Heidelberg, in Baden-Wurttemberg, where the Betty Barclay Group remains based. By 1972 the company had acquired worldwide rights to the Betty Barclay trademark, enabling international expansion; today the group markets several brands and collection lines reaching women in more than 60 countries.
