Blumi

Dubai

📍 Warehouse 29, Goshi Warehouse City, Al Quoz, Dubai

What Blumi is known for

African-inspired concept store and café in Dubai's Al Quoz warehouse district, founded by Nomi; sells fashion made from Nigerian-sourced fabric alongside handcrafted home decor and art sourced directly from Africa.

Blumi was founded by Nomi, who grew up in an African village where her family steered her toward conventional careers such as accounting or medicine rather than design. After spending time in the UK, she returned to Dubai and opened what she originally conceived as a fashion boutique. When she found a large warehouse space in Al Quoz, she expanded the concept beyond clothing into home decor, art and eventually a café, describing her reasoning as not wanting 'to limit it to fashion alone.' The store operates out of Goshi Warehouse Village in Al Quoz 3, a part of Dubai's industrial district that has become known for independent cafés and creative studios. Blumi's fashion pieces use fabric sourced from Nigeria and are produced locally in Dubai, while its home-decor offering — baskets, wall art, furniture and other pieces — is sourced directly from artisans and makers across Africa. Nomi has described the shop as a way of bringing African craftsmanship and design narratives into a Gulf retail context that rarely foregrounds them, positioning Blumi as a cultural showcase as much as a shop.
