Brechó Vó Judith

Brechó Vó Judith has operated in São Paulo since 2006, when the business was formally registered under Aparecida Simone Nogueira do Nascimento, who runs the shop together with Jorge Luiz. Like most brechós -- the São Paulo term for a secondhand or vintage clothing shop -- the store built its stock through consignment and resale of used and vintage garments rather than manufacturing anything itself, and it has since become known locally for a curated selection that mixes everyday vintage pieces with occasional finds from international houses such as Dior, Armani and Prada. The shop currently trades from Rua Cayowaá 2304, in the cluster of residential streets where the Sumaré, Vila Madalena and Pompeia neighborhoods meet -- a location that different local sources describe under each of those three neighborhood names, reflecting how closely the boundaries sit rather than any inconsistency in the shop's actual address. Alongside the physical storefront, open six days a week, the business takes orders through Instagram, a common secondary sales channel for São Paulo's independent brechó scene. Now closer to two decades old, it has outlasted many of the informal resale shops that opened in the same period, building a repeat clientele around its owner-curated stock rather than a franchised or chain model.
