Café Océane

Café Océane has roasted coffee from its Rue Pierre Brossolette shop in Le Havre since the business was formally registered on March 1, 1999, founded by Thierry Lesueur. The roastery works entirely in 100% arabica, drawing on origins including Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia and Brazil, roasted in-house rather than bought pre-roasted from a wholesaler. Alongside its own beans, the shop sells Dammann teas loose or in sachets and stocks Nespresso-compatible capsules across several origin blends, giving it a broader counter than a single-format roaster. Beyond the shopfront near the Palais de Justice, the business runs a regular presence at several regional markets through the week, extending its reach past the fixed address. Café Océane also runs a commercial side aimed at other businesses and municipalities, renting out professional espresso machines - Azkoyen grain-fed units, Delonghi models, and Bravilor thermos-equipped systems - with maintenance handled by the shop's own staff rather than outsourced to the manufacturer. That combination, a retail roastery with a standing equipment-rental and service arm, is closer to how a local coffee business operated a generation ago than the single-format specialty cafes that have replaced many of them; Café Océane has kept both sides running under one roof since the late 1990s.
