What Calem Port Wine Cellar is known for
Founded in 1859 by António Alves Cálem, this Vila Nova de Gaia cellar ages Douro-grown Port -- white, tawny, ruby and rosé -- and sells it through its own Uva Wine Shop alongside cellar visits and tastings. Its Velhotes label, launched in 1934, is Portugal's top-selling Port wine brand.
