Calvados Roger Groult is a fifth-generation family distillery based at Clos de la Hurvaniere, a farm in Saint-Cyr-du-Ronceray in the Pays d'Auge, Normandy. It was founded in 1860 when Pierre Groult began distilling his own cider into eau-de-vie. His son Leon expanded the operation, planting orchards and installing two of the three copper stills still used today. Roger Groult, for whom the house is now named, significantly grew post-war sales and enlarged the distillery in 1952. His son Jean-Pierre extended distribution across France and pioneered export abroad. Since 2022, Estelle Groult has led the domaine as its fifth generation. Throughout, the house has kept to traditional methods: 100% natural cider fermentation and double distillation over a wood fire.
