Belgian fashion house of designer Dirk Van Saene (b. 1959, Leuven), one of the 'Antwerp Six'; trained at Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts and runs the DVS boutique in Antwerp, opened in 2013.
Dirk Van Saene is a Flemish fashion designer, born in 1959 in Leuven, who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp from 1977 to 1981. He is one of the 'Antwerp Six,' the group of designers who presented in London in the 1980s and put Antwerp on the international fashion map. After graduating, Van Saene opened his own shop, Beauties and Heroes, and staged his first Paris runway show under his own name in March 1990. He also paints and works in ceramics. In 2013 he opened the DVS boutique in Antwerp, stocking his own designs alongside other designers.
