Fabi

Fabi was founded in 1965 in Montegranaro, in Italy's Marche region, by brothers Elisio and Enrico Fabi, working alongside their wives Gina and Vilia. Marche had long been a dense cluster of small-scale leather and footwear workshops, and Fabi began as one such family operation. Seven years after founding, the factory relocated to the nearby town of Monte San Giusto, in the province of Macerata, where production remains based today. Continuous investment in craftsmanship and materials pushed the brand into export markets starting in the 1980s, the same decade in which Alessia and Flaminio Fabi (Enrico's children) and Emanuele and Cinzia Fabi (Elisio's children) took over day-to-day management, opening branded stores as far afield as Moscow and Dubai. In 1993 the company added a dedicated women's footwear line to its original menswear-led collections. Fabi marked 60 years in business in 2025, and in 2024 its Barracuda sneaker line drew coverage at the Pitti Uomo trade fair as a growth driver, credited by the company to Italian materials and manufacturing. The house has since come under Manifatture Italiane, a manufacturing group controlled by Dolce & Gabbana, while continuing to operate from its original Marche base.
