Fay is an outerwear-focused label owned by Tod's Group, the Italian house rooted in the Marche region where shoemaker Filippo Della Valle opened the family's original cobbler's workshop in the early 1900s. Fay's own story starts in the United States: in the early 1980s, Diego and Andrea Della Valle came across the work jackets worn by firefighters in Maine and decided to bring the concept to Italy, adapting rugged American workwear for city wear. The result was the four-hook 'Fay 4 Ganci' jacket, which became the brand's signature piece and has been reworked into new versions each season since. Tod's Group's production headquarters opened in Casette d'Ete, near Civitanova Marche, in March 1998, and Fay operates today as one of the group's house brands alongside Tod's and Hogan.
