What Galería Namu is known for
Galería Namu, founded in 1998, is a fair-trade gallery in San José dealing in indigenous and folk art from Central America's tribal communities. The collection spans Boruca masks, Embera and Wounaan basketry, hand-carved tagua nut pieces, pre-Columbian-style work and Costa Rican folk art, with proceeds paid directly to artisans.
