Hampton Coffee Company

Hampton Coffee Company traces back more than 30 years to a single location in a converted 1940s service station in Water Mill -- a start the company still points to on its own site as the root of what it now calls being 'Long Island's largest independent coffee roaster & retailer.' That single cafe has grown into eight locations across the East End, from Southampton and Westhampton Beach to Montauk and Quogue, several combining espresso bars with full-service restaurants.

The roasting side has stayed consistent with that origin story: 100% Arabica beans, sourced primarily Direct Trade from small farms and selected for the higher altitudes that concentrate flavor, roasted in small batches to preserve each lot's character. Every cafe bakes in-house rather than shipping in pastry, and the company runs a Mobile Espresso Unit -- a custom Mercedes van fitted with a full espresso bar -- for events and catering across the region.

Community involvement is built into the operation rather than treated as marketing: Hampton Coffee says it supports more than 100 local charities, schools and organizations annually, framed under its own '#drinklikealocal' branding, alongside a wholesale program that puts the same beans behind other East End counters.
