Hul le Kes was founded in Arnhem, the Netherlands, in 2018 by Sjaak Hullekes - a 2005 ArtEZ Academy graduate previously known for his own menswear label, shown at Pitti Uomo - and Sebastiaan Kramer. Working from studios in Arnhem with a team of around 50 tailors, pattern makers and apprentices, Hul le Kes hand-sews and naturally dyes garments made almost entirely from post-consumer and post-production waste: antique French linens, unwanted tablecloths, blankets and fashion-industry deadstock. The label operates a physical space called the Hul le Kes Salon in Arnhem.
