What Key West Cigar Factory (Original Key West Cigar Factory) is known for
Eleanor Walsh opened this cigar shop in 1963, carrying forward a hand-rolling tradition Cuban immigrants brought to Key West in 1868, and roller Talmaege Culmer became known as the last of the original Key West cigar makers before the craft nearly disappeared. David and Leslie Bevens of Cork & Stogie bought the business in 2018, keeping the rolling and the Talmaege house line based on the island rather than moving it off Key West.
Best for — Hand-rolled cigars tied directly to Key West's 19th-century cigar-making history
