Kodava Farmers Coffee

Kodava Farmers Coffee is a single-estate operation at Athur village near Pollibetta, in Coorg, working the same plot from cherry to cup at 3,200 feet above sea level. The estate has staked its identity on Robusta — describing itself as a pioneer in single-estate Robusta production in a region more commonly associated with Arabica — and keeps a dedicated organic block planted with the heritage Old Peridenia variety, alongside the CxR cultivar, grown without synthetic fertilizers or sprays. All the post-harvest work happens on site: hulling, grading, color sorting, and roasting, yielding graded lots from AA down to C for Robusta and AA to A for Arabica. Its 2024/25 harvest carried a cupping score of 78 on the CxR lot, with tasting notes the estate describes as brown spice and nutty. Sold mainly to wholesale and commercial buyers by phone and WhatsApp order rather than through a retail storefront, Kodava Farmers positions itself less as a cafe brand than as a working plantation that happens to roast its own crop.
