The technique is slower and more exacting than screen-printing — the pattern is built into the weave itself — and it's the reason the house holds France's Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label, a state recognition reserved for manufacturers with rare, hard-to-replace craft knowledge.

The catalog runs from tablecloths, napkins, runners and placemats through kitchen textiles — tea towels and aprons among them — to bedding and bath linens, with embroidery and made-to-size tablecloth services for buyers who need an exact fit rather than a standard rectangle. Its Paris boutique, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, recently picked up recognition at the IHA Global Innovation Awards, a rare crossover nod from the houseware trade for a company whose core business is still the loom rather than design licensing. The house now sells into more than 40 countries, but manufacturing stays anchored in the Vosges region where it started, which is the part of the story that actually explains the price and the durability.
