What Lotto is known for
Italian sportswear brand launched in 1973 in Montebelluna, Veneto (Treviso province), by the Caberlotto family, starting with tennis shoes before expanding into basketball, volleyball, athletics and soccer footwear and apparel.
Lotto Sport Italia traces its footwear-industry roots to 1939, when the Caberlotto family established a business in Montebelluna, a town in Italy's Veneto region long known as a footwear manufacturing district. The Lotto brand itself formally launched as a sports footwear maker in June 1973, starting with tennis shoes before expanding within its first decade into basketball, volleyball, track and field, and soccer categories. The 1980s brought its first football boot lines and sponsorship deals with players including John Newcombe. The company remains headquartered in the Montebelluna/Trevignano area of Veneto's Treviso province, within the same regional footwear-manufacturing cluster where it began.
