What Mohito is known for
Women's fashion chain that began as a line of Kraków's Artman company before Artman merged into LPP, the Gdańsk clothing group founded in 1991 by Marek Piechocki and Jerzy Lubianiec; now one of LPP's four core European retail brands.
Mohito's roots are in Artman, a Kraków-based clothing company that originally developed the House and Mohito labels. Artman was absorbed into LPP, the Polish retail group founded in Gdańsk in 1991 by Marek Piechocki and Jerzy Lubianiec, who started out trading under the name PH Mistral before renaming the business LPP (an acronym of the founders' surnames). Sources differ on the exact year of the Artman merger — LPP's own company history describes taking over Artman in the years following its founding, while other brand histories date the deal to 2008 — but all agree on the outcome: LPP became the largest clothing company in Poland and inherited ownership of Mohito along with House. Under LPP, Mohito was built out as a dedicated women's fashion chain covering office-to-evening pieces, and the group has since expanded it into new European markets, including opening Mohito stores in Italy. It now operates as one of LPP's four principal brands, alongside Reserved, House and Sinsay/Cropp.
