Mylo Coffee Co

Little Rock, Arkansas, USA

What Mylo Coffee Co is known for

Mylo Coffee Co. grew out of a Hillcrest Farmers Market stall run by husband-and-wife team Stephanos and Monica Mylonas, who opened a brick-and-mortar shop on Kavanaugh Boulevard in 2014 and later added in-house roasting. The Hillcrest storefront pairs espresso drinks with scratch-made pastries; ownership changed in 2019, but it remains a single neighborhood coffee shop and bakery rather than a multi-city chain.

Mylo Coffee Co. began as a stall at the Hillcrest Farmers Market around 2012, where husband-and-wife team Stephanos and Monica Mylonas sold hand-crafted pastries and pour-over coffee. Stephanos brought a focus on local ingredients that started on his home island of Cyprus and deepened in the United Kingdom, where the couple met; working with his brother Markos, he built the market stall's baked goods and coffee into enough of a following to open a brick-and-mortar shop on Kavanaugh Boulevard in Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood in 2014. The shop later added its own coffee roasting to the pastry-and-espresso program. Ownership changed hands in 2019, and Mylo has since operated under new ownership while keeping its original Hillcrest storefront and scratch-pastry, espresso-forward format rather than becoming a multi-city chain. Today it functions as a single neighborhood bakery-cafe: espresso drinks paired with pastries made in-house, in the same Hillcrest neighborhood where the Mylonas family first sold coffee out of a market stall. It suits regulars who want a genuine neighborhood coffee-and-bakery stop with a documented local-market origin, rather than a franchise outlet.
