Nadi Gallery Shop

Nadi Gallery opened in Jakarta on 15 September 2000 with an exhibition of paintings by Heri Dono, and has run as a program of curated shows ever since. The gallery takes its name from the Indonesian word "nadi" - aorta, artery, vein - a deliberate metaphor for the pulse of contemporary art it aims to track in Indonesia. Exhibitions are organized in partnership with guest or independent curators and staged at least six times a year, showing both Indonesian artists and international names alongside them. Alongside the commercial program - the gallery invites collectors to view and purchase works on show - Nadi positions itself as a hub for dialogue around Indonesian contemporary art: it has hosted workshops, supported book publishing tied to its shows, and organized discussions bringing together artists, critics, curators and collectors. The gallery's program has been recognized externally: it was an invited participant in Showcase Singapore 2008, and Now Jakarta magazine named it the Best Art Gallery in Jakarta in 2009. Two and a half decades after opening, Nadi continues to schedule rotating exhibitions viewable through its "Now Exhibiting" and "Past Exhibitions" pages, alongside contact details for gallery visits and inquiries about specific artists' work.
