Parampara

Parampara sits inside Mani Mahal on Jaipur's Mirza Ismail Road, a multi-designer boutique built around the eye of Colombian designer Virginia Borrero de Castro. After settling in Jaipur, de Castro turned her outsider's read on Rajasthani craft into a shop that mixes her own label, De Castro, with a wider roster of independent Indian designers. De Castro's own pieces lean on handloom fabric and traditional embroidery reworked into seasonless, fluid silhouettes rather than directly reproducing traditional forms, and they anchor a space stocked with vivid ikat prints, embroidered dresses, scarves, bags, and shoes from other makers. The overall feel favors ease over formality: bright color, breezy cuts, and a curatorial hand that treats Jaipur's block-print and embroidery traditions as raw material for something more contemporary rather than souvenir-shop reproductions. It is a small operation by design, open daily except Sunday from 11am to 7pm, and it rewards the kind of unplanned wandering through Jaipur's older lanes that turns up shops tourist itineraries tend to miss.
