Poli Distillerie

Poli Distillerie traces its origins to 1898, when Giobatta Poli distilled pomace from a small mobile still he moved between farmhouses in the Veneto countryside. The business settled permanently in Schiavon, near Bassano del Grappa, and has remained solely owned and run by the Poli family across four generations, now led by great-grandchildren Giampaolo, Barbara, Andrea and Jacopo Poli. The distillery produces grappa and other Italian distillates using both traditional discontinuous bain-marie stills and more modern equipment, and sells its range through its own shop and internationally via importers such as Winebow. Attached to the production site is the Poli Grappa Museum, a free, self-guided museum spanning roughly 1,000 square metres across two floors. It traces the history of distillation and the emergence of grappa as an Italian product, and houses a collection of around 2,000 grappa bottles produced between the 1930s and 1980s, sourced from nearly 400 distilleries, many of which no longer exist. Labels and captions are presented in both Italian and English. The museum and shop are open six days a week, giving the distillery a public-facing cultural role beyond its role as a working producer, and positioning it as one of the more visitable grappa houses in the Bassano del Grappa area.
