What Rasa Home Jaipur is known for
Block-printing house founded in Jaipur in 1998 by design duo Madhulika Singh and Manish Tibrewal, producing hand-printed silk, linen and specially woven cottons; its C-Scheme store on Ashok Marg opened in 2008.
Rasa was founded in Jaipur in 1998 by Madhulika Singh, a textile-trained graduate of India's National Institute of Fashion Technology and National Institute of Design, and her partner Manish Tibrewal. The pair moved to Jaipur specifically to be close to the city's block-printing trade, spending their first year making experimental artworks while deliberately steering away from the design conventions common at the time. Rasa's process grew out of hands-on textile work rather than a pre-set collection plan: Tibrewal set up and ran a single block-printing table, mixing colors and testing combinations, while Singh directed the visual language of the patterns. The label's earliest production ran through one block printer and one pattern master who doubled as tailor — a genuinely small operation before it scaled. That first collection found a place at the Qutab Colonnade in Delhi, an early foothold that helped establish Rasa's name outside Jaipur. The brand's C-Scheme retail location, at Plot No. S-55 on Ashok Marg, opened in 2008, a decade after the label's founding, giving Jaipur its own dedicated Rasa storefront rather than relying solely on outside stockists. Rasa's hallmark remains hand block-printed textiles — silks, linens and specially woven cloth turned into bed linens, cushions, quilts and table linens — each pattern developed and printed using the traditional block-printing methods the founders set out to work directly with when they first arrived in the city.
