Selvedgework

Selvedgework was founded by Vitchapong "Boom" Hutasuwan, a denim collector who turned his personal obsession with rare selvedge fabric into a made-to-measure atelier in Bangkok. The original shop sits on Soi Siam Square 2 off Rama I Road in Pathum Wan, with the brand later adding locations at Thonglor and Central Ladprao. Rather than selling off-the-rack sizes, Selvedgework builds each pair of jeans to the customer's measurements: buyers choose a silhouette (straight, slim, skinny or super skinny), then pick from more than a dozen selvedge fabrics sourced from mills in Japan, the United States and Italy, weighing heavy versus light denim and stretch versus rigid weave. Customers can further personalize the jeans with a choice of buttons, pocket lining, leather patches, name stitching and laser-etched initials. Prices for made-to-measure pairs start at roughly 6,900 baht. The shop's approach follows the broader raw-denim culture that prizes fabric provenance and visible construction detail, treating jeans as a garment meant to fit for years and age through wear rather than through pre-distressing.
