SmetanaQ Showroom

SmetanaQ is an art and design centre in a historic building on Prague's Vltava riverfront, close to the National Theatre and the Café Slavia, that combines a gallery, a shop and a café under one roof. Its first-floor Showroom is dedicated specifically to fashion accessories, jewelry and footwear made directly by Czech designers and studios, rather than imported or mass-produced goods. Featured names include the footwear and accessory designer Fernando Echeverria, along with handbag and jewelry makers Jany Rollo, and KRAS, known for city backpacks and leather handbags. Because the pieces come straight from local studios, the Showroom presents visitors with the possibility of meeting the designers themselves, getting advice on individual pieces and finding items not widely available elsewhere. The wider SmetanaQ building functions as a hub for contemporary Czech design more broadly, positioning the Showroom as a retail counterpart to the gallery program upstairs. It sits within Prague's broader design-shopping circuit alongside stores such as Deelive, which similarly champions Czech-made design across furnishings, jewelry, fashion and other categories.
