Studio Ours

Studio Ours is the maker-space arm of Chan Design Co., built by Hixson native and screen-print artist Christina Sok, who studied graphic design at UT-Knoxville, ran her own design agency, and eventually made screen printing her primary creative outlet before opening Studio Ours. The 2,000-square-foot space occupies Chattanooga's historic Turnbull Building in Southside and opened in October 2025 as a gift shop and market for nearly 40 local and out-of-town makers, giving artists a retail outlet they wouldn't otherwise have on their own. Beyond the shop floor, Sok built in a classroom used for craft workshops, co-working, and even game nights, plus a rentable second floor hosting yoga classes and weddings — making the space function as much as community infrastructure as a store. A small weekend coffee service runs alongside the retail floor, giving visitors a reason to linger rather than just browse and buy. The combination of maker-market retail, teaching space and event floor reflects Sok's own path from solo screen printer to running a shared space for other Chattanooga artists, built around the idea that makers need selling space and community as much as they need a workshop.
