The North Face Renewed launched in 2018 as a collection of refurbished gear sourced from returned, defective or damaged apparel. Items are inspected, cleaned and repaired to the brand's own quality standard before being resold at a discount through a dedicated Renewed online store. The program was later expanded to accept customer trade-ins both online and in physical stores, offering tiered credit toward future purchases; gear too worn to resell is instead routed to donation or recycling via textile-reclamation partner Tersus Solutions. The expanded take-back system is powered by Archive, a circularity technology platform.
