What you’ll find
What The Salt Lick is known for
Since 1967, The Salt Lick has cooked over an open pit in Driftwood, in the Texas Hill Country, on recipes the Roberts family carried west by wagon in the mid-1800s. What began as a roadside smokehouse now ships its brisket and its cult barbecue sauce nationwide — the recipe shared rather than guarded.
