What Tunxi Hu Kaiwen Ink Factory is known for
This Tunxi workshop continues the Hu Kaiwen inkmaking lineage, pressing pine-soot, resin and hide glue into solid ink sticks by hand before carving and gilding them. The factory sits in Huangshan's old Tunxi quarter, one of the last places still producing traditional Hui ink at this scale.
