What Vacheron Constantin is known for

The oldest watchmaker in continuous operation since 1755 — the Holy Trinity of haute horlogerie. Patrimony, Overseas, and record-breaking complications.

Vacheron Constantin has been making watches continuously since 1755 — the oldest manufacture in uninterrupted operation, older than the United States, and it has the archives to prove every year of it. Jean-Marc Vacheron's first apprentice contract survives; so does the 1819 letter from François Constantin that gave the house its motto: "Do better if possible, and that is always possible."

The catalogue behaves like the archive's living edge. The Patrimony distills 1950s minimalism to the millimeter; the Overseas is the Trinity's most underrated sports watch; the Historiques line resurrects specific references — the American 1921 with its driver's dial tilted for the wrist on the wheel. At the summit sit the house's record-breakers: the 57260 pocket watch with 57 complications, the most complicated watch ever made, and the Berkley Grand Complication that surpassed it in 2024 with a Chinese perpetual calendar.

The Maltese cross emblem comes from a barrel component. Geneva Seal finishing throughout, Les Cabinotiers for one-of-one commissions — 270 years without a gap.
