Munich's Markt am Wiener Platz sits at the center of the Haidhausen district and is the smallest of the city's permanent grocery markets. The market moved to its present site on 1 November 1889, having previously been held on Preysingstrasse; the square itself was named Wiener Platz in 1891. Daily stalls sell fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, bread, flowers and coffee. As of 2026 the historic market building is undergoing a roughly three-million-euro structural renovation expected to run through 2027. An interim market opened nearby on 25 April 2026, keeping stalls operating during the works.
