Wydaho Roasters

Jim and Mary Sheehan opened Wydaho Roasters' downtown Driggs café in July 2023, but the path there started decades earlier, on a ski trip to Jackson in 2000 that led the couple over the pass to Grand Targhee — the trip that sold them on the Teton Valley for good. Jim's coffee interest predates the shop by even longer: he began exploring coffee roasting about 35 years ago, and the roaster now running at 495 South Main Street is his first commercial machine after some 20 years of roasting at home.

The couple's history with food-and-drink businesses also runs back to the 1990s, when they ran a cookie and ice cream shop together — Mary made the cookies, Jim the ice cream and waffle cones. That earlier venture shows up again at Wydaho: alongside coffee and daily baked goods, the café makes its own ice cream in-house from scratch. In 2019, Jim had already founded Wydaho Property Management, stocking Teton vacation rentals with fresh-roasted beans — effectively a trial run for the roasting business before the café existed.

The name 'Wydaho' nods to the Teton Valley's straddle of the Wyoming-Idaho border, and the shop leans into that regional identity directly, describing its coffee as 'crafted for the Tetons' rather than positioning itself as a generic specialty roaster that happens to be located there.
