Agnelle

Agnelle was founded in Saint-Junien, France, in 1937 by Marie-Louise, who ran the workshop through the Second World War and the Resistance while modernizing its production methods. Her daughter, Josie Le Royer, expanded the business by building relationships with Paris couture houses including Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Lanvin, turning a regional glove workshop into a supplier for the runway.

Marie-Louise's granddaughter, Sophie Grégoire, joined the family firm in 1986 and has led it through further collaborations with designers such as Balenciaga, Inès de la Fressange and Louis-Gabriel Nouchi, while keeping production in Saint-Junien, a town in the Limousin region long associated with French glovemaking. The house has been officially recognized as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) since 2007 and listed among France's "Métiers Rares" (rare crafts) since 2011.

Agnelle's range now extends beyond classic leather gloves into wool, cashmere, silk and alpaca pieces, plus motorcycle and tactical styles, for both men and women — a wider material palette than its founding-era leather work, built on top of three generations of the same family's ownership.
