Horst Dassler — son of Adidas founder Adi Dassler — launched Arena in 1973 after Mark Spitz's seven golds in Munich, debuting the ultra-light Skinfit fabric at the 1974 European Championships in Vienna. Owned by Japan's Descente since 1990, the brand sells competition suits and training gear through distributors in more than 100 countries.
