In the Heckmann courtyards off Oranienburger Strasse, the Bonbonmacherei boils and cuts old-fashioned hard candies by hand in front of visitors, using antique moulds and traditional recipes. Its signature Berliner Maiblatter, a woodruff-flavoured leaf sweet, revives a local Berlin specialty.
