What Brauerei Spezial is known for
A family-run smoked-beer brewery and Franconian gasthof that operates its own malthouse, drying malt over open beechwood fires as it has since 1536. Run by the Merz family since 1898, it is one of only two surviving traditional Rauchbier houses in Bamberg.
