Self-taught as a perfumer, he began selling bottles directly through his artist website in 2013; as sales grew, he left his job as an art professor to focus on fragrance. He launched the brand name FZOTIC in 2017. His scents won awards at the Taste T.V. San Francisco Artisan Salon in 2013, and FZOTIC fragrances have received press coverage from the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and the Financial Times.
