Cantarelli traces to a family tailoring business built up by Mauro Ranieri Cantarelli, later joined by his children Rita (women's division) and Alessandro (men's division). The company was formally incorporated as Cantarelli S.p.A. in 1994, with three production facilities in Rigutino and Terontola, both in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany. For decades the workshops manufactured ready-to-wear and made-to-measure collections on contract for major luxury houses, reportedly including Gucci, Celine, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Balmain and Christian Dior, alongside its own-label lines. The brand now trading as Cantarelli lists a design office in Cortona and a showroom in Sesto Fiorentino near Florence.
