Over five decades it grew into what is widely described as the Caribbean's most sought-after batik textile producer.
Production happens on-site: roughly 36 local employees hand-dye fabric, apparel, wall hangings and accessories, and visitors can watch artisans demonstrate the resist-dyeing technique in person. A "Back of House Tour" lets guests work directly with dyes and take home a piece they helped make, extending the retail visit into a hands-on craft experience.
In 2025, Caribelle Batik marked its 50th anniversary, timed alongside the 400th anniversary of Romney Manor itself — a dual milestone the company has used to highlight both its own history and the site's much longer one.
