What Casa Elefante is known for
Casa Elefante, the Elephant House trading on Maputo's Avenida 25 de Setembro since 1919, has stayed in the same Hindu family and remains a landmark for capulana cloth opposite the central market. Its shelves hold reams of capulanas, headscarves, suiting, cotton and polyester fabrics and haberdashery, much of it sourced from India, China and Tanzania.
