What Caves de la Chartreuse is known for
The Carthusian monks' herbal liqueurs, Green and Yellow Chartreuse and the Elixir Végétal, are aged and sold from the historic cellars in Voiron at the edge of the Chartreuse massif. The recipe traces to a 1605 manuscript, with the Elixir perfected in 1764.
