The Elbgold Rosterei Shop occupies the brand's Schanze location at Lagerstrasse 34c, one of five Hamburg cafes run by the roaster since it began roasting specialty coffee in the city in 2004. As the roastery's original neighbourhood shop, it sells freshly roasted beans and brewing equipment alongside the cafe side of the business, functioning as a retail counter attached to a working roasting operation rather than a cafe-only storefront. The beans on offer draw on Elbgold's direct-trade sourcing model -- described by the company as built on 'fair prices, advance payments and long-term partnerships' -- with current origins including Rwanda and Ethiopia, sold as both house blends (NEUNBAR, MISCHGOLD, SECHS A) and single-origin releases (BOMBE, DENBI UDDO). Limited-edition lots processed with anaerobic fermentation also move through the shop when available, giving regulars something beyond the standing lineup to try. Sitting in the Schanze -- one of Hamburg's denser, more mixed commercial districts -- the shop benefits from the same 'Goldstandard' sourcing commitment that anchors the rest of the Elbgold network, but its identity here is retail-forward: a place to walk out with beans and gear rather than only sit down for a cup.
