Father's Coffee Roastery

Father's Coffee Roastery was founded in April 2018 in Ostrava by husband-and-wife team Petr Kvasnicka and Marie Kvasnickova. Their path into coffee began in 2013 with a Kenyan espresso that changed their interest in the drink; they opened a first cafe, COKAFE, soon after, then moved to Berlin to work as baristas at the specialty roaster Five Elephant before returning to the Czech Republic to found their own roastery. Their first batch under the Father's Coffee name was roasted on a Diedrich IR5 roaster. The company now roasts single-origin espresso and filter coffee sourced from Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Peru, emphasizing freshness and traceable farms, and runs a 'Father's Family Club' subscription program offering free EU shipping and member discounts. Beyond the Ostrava roastery, Father's operates a retail store, training lab and espresso bar in Prague, extending the brand from a production roastery into a public-facing coffee-education space. The founders' route into the trade — home enthusiasm, a first cafe, an apprenticeship at a respected Berlin roaster, then their own operation — is a specific, documented origin story distinguishing the shop from a purely commercial roasting operation.
