Forme d'Expression is the label of designer Koeun Park, who was born in Seoul, studied fashion design at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Mode in Paris, and later earned a master's at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. She worked under Giorgio Armani and, at Donna Karan, was involved in sourcing Italian fabric suppliers and production facilities - experience that led her to settle in Umbria, Italy, where she founded her design company, Factory of Faith, in 2004. Forme d'Expression followed a year later, in 2005, as the company's first formal label. The brand's stylized name is created by decoding a numeric sequence that spells out the phrase using the 'Helvetica Fraction' font. Park has described her working philosophy around the idea of designing for 'one client' whose need justifies making 'one cloth,' framing the label's approach as intimate and craft-driven rather than volume fashion.
