Hacı Bekir (Ali Muhiddin Hacı Bekir)

Hacı Bekir Efendi opened his confectionery in Bahçekapı in 1777, and the original storefront still stands on the same street, now run by the family's fifth generation and registered as a living heritage site. The shop makes lokum, akide rock candy, and helva by methods largely unchanged since the eighteenth century.
