What Hakim's Bookstore & Gift Shop is known for
Hakim's Bookstore & Gift Shop on South 52nd Street in West Philadelphia specialises in books about Black history and culture. Dawud Hakim founded the shop, which later continued under his daughter Yvonne Blake. Its role as a neighbourhood gathering place is part of the story behind the historical marker awarded to the shop.
