Hereu

Hereu was founded in 2014 by Jose Bartolome and Albert Escribano, who returned to their Mediterranean roots - Valencia and Mallorca respectively - after years working in London and Paris to start the label. The name means 'heir' in Catalan, and the brand builds its designs around Mediterranean folk imagery and craft traditions. Its best-known piece is the Espiga bag, a shoulder bag defined by a braided strap made from pliable, padded strips of lambskin woven together; the bag is produced by manufacturers in Sax, a town in the Valencia region with a long-standing leather-making history. Hereu has since expanded into footwear alongside its handbags.
