Hifi.Shop (Hifi & Friends GmbH)

Berlin (Schöneberg) / Germany

What Hifi.Shop (Hifi & Friends GmbH) is known for

Hifi.Shop is a direct continuation of Berlin's long-running HiFi im Hinterhof: when that store went insolvent, six of its former staff regrouped under Clemens Treige as Hifi & Friends GmbH and reopened in 2026 at Wilhelm-Kabus-Straße 77 in Schöneberg, near the Südkreuz rail hub.

The new premises run to 333 square metres, larger than the shop it succeeded, with dedicated customer parking built into a location chosen for long-distance rail access.

The floor is organized into named studios rather than generic departments: a stereo listening studio with a switching system that lets a customer A/B up to 20 loudspeakers and four amplifiers at the push of a button, a headphone studio the shop's own materials describe as "Germany's best headphone studio," and a separate Dolby Atmos home-cinema room. Stocked brands include KEF, Naim, AVM, Monitor Audio and Arcam, spanning entry-level to genuine high-end.

The shop's stated philosophy is built around direct comparison over spec-sheet reading — "compare rather than speculate" — which the switching system in the stereo studio exists specifically to enable. Given that the predecessor business's insolvency could easily have ended Berlin's best-known independent listening-room culture outright, the fact that its own former staff rebuilt it at greater scale within the same city is itself part of the story worth telling here.
