Mohammed Shareef Khan founded Inland Leather Company in 1975 to process cow, buffalo, goat, and sheep hides into finished and semi-finished leather for shoes, bags, upholstery, and equestrian goods. Its Kanpur workshops still ship to customers across Europe and North America from the district long nicknamed the 'Manchester of the East' for its tanneries.
